Crocuses
Crocuses are the first to poke their heads above the ground after a long winter. No wonder the name crocus means joy. Crocuses stand out because of their bright colours and remain small throughout their lives. In addition to the well-known purple, yellow and white crocuses, there are hundreds of other species. Crocuses are faithful flowers, because once planted, they come up again every year.
